When we first posted last month about the importance of engagement over numbers when it comes to Facebook pages for organizations and brands, our intent was to offer a sampling of the thousands of Latino-theme Facebook pages out there. The list was no way near exhaustive, and like we said last month, if you are a page that would like to be added to the list, just post your link below in the comments section and add it.
Before we share the latest list, just a quick reminder that this is all about engagement. The goal is to ensure that you achieve the maximum results in the number of likes that you have on a consistent basis, since the more people are talking about you, the better your chances are at establishing real relationships and getting more interest in your online content and properties.
This month, we decided to just list the Facebook Level of Engagement (FLOE) percentages. Of course, many pages have a lot of likes but imagine if you are one of those pages and you can push your FLOE over 15%? 20%? 30%? These FLOE percentages are all based on real-time stats taken this afternoon, April 2. We also decided to make one master list, and encourage other brands and organizations to pass on their Facebook links to us so we can add you the the May list. Why are we doing this? Here are our reasons:
- We want to start curating a master list of Latino-themed Facebook pages.
- We want to see if all these pages can achieve a consistent FLOE of 15%. Once that happens, imagine the possibilities.
- Don’t just work to get the numbers, once you have the numbers, curate content that will have people talking about your page.

Julio – love your analysis and would love to be included. Our audience strength is in our web audience http://www.hispanicallyspeakingnews.com or http://www.hs-news.com. We are enjoying close to 300,000 monthly pages view.
We have (2) Facebook pages that are related to our website and actually don’t know our level of engagement but would love to find out. Thanks for this useful information. Estelle Gonzales Walgreen, Editor-in-Chief HS News
Hi, Estelle! We know your page well and yes, you raise a great point about how a social media platform like Facebook is only part of your overall web strategy that does exactly what you say needs to get done: get people to your site. We want to congratulate you on your amazing success, since you guys are at the top of the game right now in terms of independent media content for Latino issues. In fact, if I am not mistaken, you guys right now are the top page in the world from the independent media space. The level of engagement is really easy. Just take the total number of fans you have at any given time (right now you have 2,743 on your site) and divide into the total number of people speaking about your page (57), and that comes out to a 2.1% rate of engagement right now.
Imagine how much more traffic you can get to your site if you got that rate to about 15%. I am 100% convinced that our growth with LatinoRebels.com in the last 3-4 months can be tied to our engagement rate on Facebook, Twitter, and other social platforms. They go hand in hand, and I would venture to say that if you could increase your engagement rate on social media (and it takes time, consistency, and hard work), you would see an uptick in your web traffic. We got to over 100,000 pageviews in March and we also had one of our highest Facebook page engagement rates (around 33%) since we launched our company last May, 2011. I see no reason why we won’t eclipse over 1 million views this year.
Feel free to connect with me any time at juliorvarela@gmail.com or on Twitter at @julito77 if you want to talk about this some more. You have excellent content and stories and you guys do an amazing job.
Best to you,
Julito

Thanks!
Julio,
My name is Daniel Choi and I work as real estate broker in Los Angeles and I cater to Hispanic consumers with their housing needs. The housing debacle no doubt affected a disproportionate of Hispanic homeowners and I have started in 2011 a blog entirely in Spanish to guide thru the confusing foreclosure, short sale, at http.//eviteforeclosures.blogspot.com way before starting a blog in English at foreclosuremission.blogspot.com. My facebook page michantlicom also is related but has yet to attract the audience that my blogs are accomplishing. Your feedback would be greatly appreciated. T Muchas Gracias !
Hi, Daniel. We will check it out, but from the looks of it, you won’t get attraction by just posting a Facebook page. Just like you work your real estate leads, you also need to work Facebook. Same concept.
