On March 11, organizers of Whole Foods?—a group of Jamaica Plain residents committed to stopping the arrival of a new Whole Foods in Hyde Square—filmed several JP residents who are opposing the neighborhood’s new store. Even with announcements that new Latino grocery stores would also be opening in Hyde Square, there are still concerns from some residents about whether Whole Foods would benefit JP. Here is the video that was posted by Whose Foods?:
Now that we have seen the kind of transparency that’s possible on the JP For All petition, website and facebook page, I’d like to know who exactly IS “Whose Foods?”
Several of the people who “appear” in this video are obviously seasoned Whose Foods supporters, not just your average Hyde Square resident. I think we deserve to know who is running this campaign and how many JP residents (as opposed to those outside the neighborhood) have signed the Whose Foods petition, just like the JP For All folks are telling us about the folks who have signed their petition.
Agreed. I do think Whose Foods is formed by JP residents but JP for All, I agree, has been more transparent.
