For about the first 30 minutes into Saturday’s Gold Cup Final between the United States and Mexico, it appeared that the US National team would be fine. Stuff two goals past the Mexicans, make some adjustments and just hold the lead. Well, they didn’t make the adjustments and they didn’t hold the lead, as El Tri stormed back to win the Gold Cup, 4-2, at the Rose Bowl.
Yes, the Mexicans deserved to win it. They didn’t give up, down 2-0 (tying the game at halftime), and their rockets Chicharito and Gio wil definitely keep Mexico relevant for years.
But really, coach Bob Bradley? Really? 2-0 lead. 60 minutes left. Home soil (hard to tell with all the Mexican supporters). And you lose.
Sorry, Coach, this was your last chance. It’s time to go. Time for the US to get a CREATIVE soccer mind to run the team.
