So, there is a debt compromise and most of the country is pissed. Hey, democracy isn’t pretty and we do commend the US Congress for actually completing a deal, since we do think about 80% of the United States is pretty middle of the road and logical.
Which brings us to the illogical. FOX NEWS.
Looks like this week’s FOX MESSAGE OF THE WEEK is that the United States cannot be Greece, which is having some economic problems of its own as well as social chaos.
First the video evidence:
This message has been going on at Fox for the last three weeks. And now we will tell FOX a couple of things. First of all, the UNITED STATES WILL NEVER BE GREECE. Leave your fear-mongering and irresponsible reporting alone. Start being freakin responsible.
Case in point:
- The Wall Street Journal, which last time we checked is owned by FOX NEWS CORP, basically said that comparing the US to Greece is ridiculous.
- The percentage of debt as part of each country’s GDP doesn’t even compare. Greece has a larger percentage of debt than the US.
- Greece is a REALLY SMALL COUNTRY with just about 11 million people. The US has over 350 million. Not even close. In the grand scheme of things, Greece is a bit bigger than New York City.
- Umm, the Greek GDP is in negative numbers. The US is not.
